VolkerFitzpatrick Delivers £34m Net Zero Logistics Space at Prologis Park Hemel Hempstead

VolkerFitzpatrick is proud to announce the successful completion of Prologis Park Hemel Hempstead, delivering five high-specification logistics units as part of a £34 million expansion for Prologis UK. Located within the established Maylands Business Park, the development adds over 280,000 sq. ft. of premium industrial space to one of the South East’s most strategically positioned logistics hubs.

A Sustainable, Future-Ready Development
The new units—ranging from 20,547 to 79,941 sq. ft.—have been designed and built to the highest environmental standards. Each building is a Net Zero Carbon development, designed in alignment with the UK Green Building Council’s (UKGBC) Net Zero Carbon Framework. All buildings have achieved BREEAM Outstanding and EPC A+ ratings, with two units selected as pilot projects for the UKGBC Net Zero Building Standard initiative. Rooftop solar PV arrays, brise soleil cladding, rainwater harvesting, and energy monitoring platforms are just some of the features that support long-term sustainability and operational efficiency.

Prologis Park Hemel Hempstead is more than just a logistics location—it’s a people-first workplace. The new units include outdoor terraces, cycle repair stations, EV charging, and dedicated walking and cycling routes that connect to local amenities and green spaces. Enhanced natural lighting, modern office spaces, and flexible mezzanine areas ensure the buildings are as functional as they are comfortable.

In addition to delivering world-class infrastructure, VolkerFitzpatrick has supported the creation of over £7 million in social value through local engagement, educational outreach, and contributions to community initiatives such as DENS, Hemel Hempstead’s food bank.
