Delivering Symmetry Park Biggleswade

The project delivered more than 827,000 sq ft of high-quality industrial and office space across five state-of-the-art units, further strengthening Biggleswade's position as a key logistics and distribution hub.

Designed with sustainability at its core, the development targeted BREEAM Outstanding and EPC A+ ratings, reflecting a shared commitment between Tritax Big Box Developments and VolkerFitzpatrick to deliver future-ready, energy-efficient buildings that support the UK's net zero ambitions.Through close collaboration with the client, consultants, supply chain partners and the wider project team, the development has become a flagship example of sustainable, high-quality industrial construction. The dedication and expertise demonstrated throughout the project helped drive the successful delivery of one of the region's most significant logistics developments.

Located in Central Bedfordshire, the scheme comprised the design and construction of five industrial units ranging from 65,847 sq ft to 287,200 sq ft, each incorporating Grade A office accommodation. The development was supported by extensive external works, including service yards, parking facilities, drainage infrastructure, landscaping and incoming services.

Delivering Social Value in Biggleswade

Creating a positive legacy within the local community was a key focus throughout the project.

VolkerFitzpatrick worked closely with local supply chain partners and supported employment opportunities through apprenticeships, work placements and community engagement initiatives. The team also contributed to a range of local causes, including support for Biggleswade Food Bank and fundraising activities for regional charities.

As part of its volunteering programme, team members and project partners supported the Herald Resource Centre, operated by learning disability charity Hft, helping to transform outdoor spaces into a more welcoming and usable environment for the people supported by the organisation.

These initiatives formed part of a broader commitment to delivering meaningful social value alongside the successful completion of a major infrastructure and industrial development for the local area.
