Bishops Square Retail Development
VolkerFitzpatrick constructed a new retail unit at Bishops Square, near Spitalfields Market, London for J.P.Morgan. The works included the construction of a two-storey mixed-use development and ten retail units, BREEAM rated 'Very Good’, and designed by Foster & Partners.
This distinctive retail development, designed by Foster & Partners, is in keeping with Spitalfields' heritage and includes an exposed structural frame, coated in dark red iron oxide, infilled by glazing, canopies and partitions to give it a modern, industrial feel.
- The construction of a new two-storey block over an existing basement vehicle access ramp
- Structural strengthening to the basement below

- 10 nr retail spaces and second space formed within an external structural steel frame
- A sedum and wildflower green roof
- ‘Very Good’ BREEAM rating
