VolkerFitzpatrick Inspires Over 700 Oxfordshire Students in Just One Week
More than 700 students across Oxfordshire took part in a week of road safety assemblies and construction careers sessions delivered by VolkerFitzpatrick and VolkerHighways.
A number of team members from VolkerFitzpatrick’s RAF Brize Norton project, and group company VolkerHighways’, held interactive sessions designed to boost pupils’ understanding of road safety. The students had the chance to test their knowledge and take part in interactive activities.
Assemblies were held at Brize Norton Primary School, Edith Moorhouse Primary School and Hampton CofE Primary School. At The Oxford Academy, sixth form students in Years 12 and 13 attended a careers session where they explored the wide range of roles available within construction, the varied pathways into the industry and the apprenticeship opportunities offered by VolkerFitzpatrick.
Across the week, more than 700 young people benefited from the informative and interactive sessions. The initiative reflects the businesses’ ongoing commitment to supporting safer communities and inspiring the next generation of construction professionals.
Supporting the communities surrounding our projects continues to be a key priority for us at VolkerFitzpatrick. We’re always exploring meaningful opportunities to create positive, lasting change in the places where we work. By collaborating closely with local schools close to our RAF Brize Norton project, we’re not only contributing to safer communities, but also helping to inspire young people to see the built environment as a sector full of opportunity. We’re proud to champion initiatives that deliver genuine and long‑term benefits.
