VolkerFitzpatrick Helps Lead Industry Shift with UK NZCBS Pilot Projects
VolkerFitzpatrick is proud to support Prologis UK in advancing the industry’s transition toward credible, science‑aligned net zero delivery through its involvement in the UK NZCBS pilot.
As part of our work delivering five units on behalf of Prologis UK in Hemel Hempstead, we worked with the UK NZCBS to pilot their new standard to provide a clear, reliable and trusted framework for net zero carbon buildings.
Being involved in this pioneering programme last year has positioned these projects at the forefront of the industry’s transition to credible, science‑aligned net zero carbon delivery.
Following on from this pilot, in which 205 projects participated, the first version of the UK NZCBS was rolled out UK wide in March 2025, which is a fantastic milestone to celebrate.
At VolkerFitzpatrick Ltd, we’re proud to support our clients on this journey. By embedding UK NZCBS principles into two of the units constructed, the new standard helped the project confidently achieve “on track” validation at Practical Completion — delivering measurable, transparent and future‑ready carbon outcomes.
It’s fantastic to see momentum growing across the sector, and even better to be part of the team helping drive it forward.
“At VolkerFitzpatrick, we’re proud to support UK NZCBS in helping lead the industry’s shift toward credible, science aligned net zero delivery. Our involvement in the UK NZCBS pilot at Hemel Hempstead demonstrates what practical, transparent and future ready carbon outcomes can look like. As the Standard celebrates its first full release, VolkerFitzpatrick is committed to continuing this momentum and supporting our clients on their net zero journey.”
