Across two site visits, 80 ICE members were given presentations and guided tours of the project, providing an opportunity to see first-hand the scale of the works and hear about the challenges and innovations involved in delivering the scheme.

The team also opened its doors to around 170 members of the public, giving local residents and stakeholders the chance to meet project representatives, view the latest plans and ask questions about the development.

The visits highlighted the significant progress being made on the project and the positive impact the completed scheme will have for road users and local communities.

Adrian Shawcross, an ICE member who attended one of the visits, said:

"I wanted to thank the team for organising such an enjoyable and informative site visit. It was a great opportunity to learn more about the project, and it was particularly appreciated that so many members of the team took the time to share their expertise and showcase the innovative technologies being used to support construction."

Supporting community engagement is a key part of the project's social value programme, and these visits provided a valuable opportunity to connect with local residents, industry professionals and stakeholders while showcasing the benefits the scheme will bring to the region.
