Colleagues from our Cockfosters PLU depot took part in the Rail Diversity Challenge on 17 June 2026 at Newark Showground, entering two teams — the Depot Dynamo’s and Depot Diva’s.

Organised by Women in Rail, the annual event brings together teams from across the industry to take on a series of physical and mental challenges designed to promote collaboration, inclusion and skills development.

Supporting diversity in rail

The Rail Diversity Challenge also raises funds for Women in Rail, supporting their ongoing work to improve gender balance, equality and inclusion across the UK rail industry.

Beyond the competition, the event offered valuable networking opportunities and a chance to connect with peers from across the sector.

Looking ahead

Taking part with two teams this year marked a positive step in increasing our involvement in industry events.

We look forward to building on this and encouraging even greater participation in future, continuing to support initiatives that promote diversity, inclusion and collaboration across the rail industry.

“It was fantastic to see such a strong turnout from our Cockfosters team this year, with two teams taking part and giving it their all. Events like the Rail Diversity Challenge are a great way to bring people together, encourage collaboration and highlight the importance of diversity and inclusion in our industry. I’m really proud of the effort both teams put in and how they supported one another throughout the day.”
