Cockfosters PLU team created a storm at the Rail Diversity Challenge 2025 in Newark
Member from our Cockfosters PLU team 'Depot Dynamo’s', attended The Big Rail Diversity Challenge in Newark on 25th June. They took part in various challenges and stormed through to second place out of 58 groups!

What is The Rail Diversity Challenge?
The Rail Diversity Challenge, Organised by Women in Rail, has been breaking down barriers and reshaping the image of the rail industry since 2016 — all while helping to bridge the sector's skills gap. A number of rail companies put forward a group to represent their company who then compete against each other to fight for the top spot. For every challenge, the team can win up to 20 points, but they have to beat the team they are competing against for most events. This was very competitive and lots of fun!

What did the challenges involve?
There were multiple challenges that needed to be completed with a lot of teamwork needed to complete each one. The events started off with crack the code, reading through challenging puzzles to work out the code. The team then went to do various other tasks.
"Taking part in The Big Rail Diversity Challenge was an incredible experience for the Depot Dynamo’s. The energy, teamwork, and determination from everyone was inspiring — and to come second out of 58 teams is a testament to the strength and unity we have at Cockfosters. We’re proud to be part of an event that champions diversity and collaboration in the rail industry. We’ll be back next year, aiming for an even higher spot!"
