
VolkerFitzpatrick has been awarded a position on National Grid’s High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) supply chain framework, taking a position on Lot 2 for onshore cable civil works. VolkerStevin will be collaborating with VolkerFitzpatrick in the delivery of this work, providing National Grid with access to the benefits of the wider VolkerWessels UK Group.

This announcement marks the final stage of National Grid’s supply chain framework, reinforcing the commitment to delivering the energy infrastructure needed to support a resilient electricity system and meet growing demand.

A total of six HVDC converter civil works suppliers have been awarded positions on Lot 1 of the Framework Agreement totalling approximately £9.07bn. In addition, three HVDC onshore cable civil works suppliers have been awarded places on Lot 2 of the Framework, worth an estimated £3.7bn.
VolkerFitzpatrick has been selected for the HVDC onshore cable civils Framework along with Balfour Beatty and J Murphy & Sons. The successful HVDC converter civils suppliers are Balfour Beatty, BAM Nuttall, Galliford Try, Laing O’Rourke, Skanska, and Taylor Woodrow.
Contracts have been secured for a five-year period, with the potential to extend for a further three years. Each Framework covers both confirmed and anticipated projects, including Eastern Green Link 3, Eastern Green Link 4, LionLink, as well as other similar projects.
