Costa Rica

In Costa Rica, Raleigh International focuses on environmental projects, often working in national parks with rangers and local communities.

The main areas of work are: community resilience, safe water and sanitation and natural resource management.

Costa Rica hosts an array of national parks, mountainous terrain, beaches, jungles and volcanoes.

Environmental projects in this part of the world are hugely important in helping to preserve natural resources and habitats and protect important species of plants and animals. Some examples of projects the volunteers may be working on include creating a viewing platform and trail in La Cangreja National Park and building trails through Chirripo National Park to help improve access to the area for local people.
