Record 10 international safety awards achieved by VolkerWessels UK
Projects and joint ventures involving companies across VolkerWessels UK are celebrating after receiving a record 10 British Safety Council ‘International Safety’ Awards.
VolkerFitzpatrick achieved one distinction for its Doncaster Carr InterCity Express Programme maintenance depot as well as merit awards for the Lea Bridge Station re-establishment works and the Ilford Yard Stabling project as part of Crossrail. The construction project to develop a new railway station in Cambridge North achieved a pass.
VolkerRail were awarded a third successive distinction covering the whole business operations, a feat only managed by two other companies in the history of the awards.
Merit prizes were awarded to VolkerStevin for their River Mersey flood defence works for the Environment Agency and VolkerLaser, for their work on the strengthening of Cleethorpes Overbridge.
Joint ventures, C2V+, VBA and Staffordshire Alliance were also successful in achieving merit awards.

The International Safety Awards, currently in their 58th year, celebrate and promote the success of the winning organisations and their employees in maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for all. They are open to businesses, public and third sector bodies of all sizes and sectors.
