VolkerFitzpatrick to design and build a new Clean Active Ventilation Environments (CAVE) laboratory.
The facility will include a large reconfigurable area for experiments, as well as observation and preparation spaces. Researchers will use the reconfigurable space to simulate public environments – such as a doctor’s / dentist’s surgery or hospital waiting room – and investigate people’s behaviour, air quality, and virus transmission within them.
The CAVE facility complements UCL’s adjacent Person Environment Activity Research Laboratory (PEARL), which was also delivered by VolkerFitzpatrick.
