The categories include:

1) Project of the Year (under £20m) – Haberdashers’ Boys’ Pre-Preparatory School - The £7 million project delivered a high-quality education facility for the school. As one of the largest independent schools in the country, the project has enabled them to create a lower-school complex on a single site combining both the pre-prep and primary school.

2) Regeneration Project of the Year – Gosforth Depot - VolkerFitzpatrick was appointed by Stadler, the Swiss engineering company, to build the £70m brand-new depot at Gosforth in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, to replace a 100-year-old facility.

3) Community Engagement Project of the Year  - Southampton Airport – The £6m project included the 164m extension to the northern end of the runway which has allowed the airport to attract new airlines and offer new routes. VolkerFitzpatrick achieved £4.6million in Social Value spend, amounting to 75.4% of the contract value, including £1.3million in local supply chain spend, £272.6k in local full-time positions, 60 apprenticeship weeks, and 80 volunteering hours.

4) Digital Construction Excellence – A259 Littlehampton - The £22m A259 road improvement scheme included the provision of two new sections of the dual carriageway, totalling 2km in length, which have been built to not only reduce journey times, but also cut traffic congestion and save around 670 tons of CO2 per year. Our use of digital tools was of extensive benefit to this project, developing technical solutions, improving safety, saving on costs and programme delays, and instilling confidence in project delivery.

5) Supply Chain Collaboration Excellence – HS2 as part of Align - Align is working on the central section of HS2, delivering the record-breaking Colne Valley Viaduct which will be the longest railway bridge in the UK as well as HS2's longest tunnel, spanning 10-miles.

6) MMC Project of the Year x 2 – Brent Cross West and HS2 as part of Align – As well as becoming a finalist for our MMC work on the new HS2 line, our project at Brent Cross West, which provided the first major new mainline station in London in over a decade, also involved a wide range of MMC. This included 80% prefabrication of materials; use of steel beam structures; use of timber frames sourced from FSC resources; and use of low carbon material.
