Working with us

Working Together3.jpg

Our supply chain is an integral part of VolkerFitzpatrick’s commitment to offering clients a quality service. We establish mutually rewarding, ongoing relationships with our suppliers and subcontractors, and today we work with many organisations where we have a long and successful history of cooperation. VolkerFitzpatrick operates a policy of prompt payment to agreed terms.

VolkerFitzpatrick forms part of the VolkerWessels UK group, of which the business units are: VolkerFitzpatrick, VolkerRail, VolkerStevin, VolkerHighways and VolkerLaser.

Our comprehensive database, available across the business and linked in with the wider VolkerWessels UK group, includes key management and performance data, as well as relevant technical and financial documents, to enable us to fully engage with our supply chain partners for long-term mutual benefit.

We welcome new partners, as we grow organically and develop new markets in the UK. We actively support and encourage the use of local workforces and Small to Medium Enterprises, where practically possible. The Supply Chain Trades Required List in the key documents section below, details the subcontract trades and supplier categories we currently require in the respective operating businesses. If your trade or category is not listed you may still apply but your application will be subject to additional review.

To work with VolkerFitzpatrick you will be required to demonstrate the following:

If you are a subcontractor that employs five or more persons, for prequalification approval to secure work you must hold:

  • The Common Assessment Standard (CAS). More information can be found through the Build UK website. Our preferred platform is Constructionline and their Gold level meets the common assessment standard level.

There are two additional accreditation bodies, CHAS and Achilles, offering the Common assessment standard (CAS) and these are also acceptable BUT only if they have current validity

  • A valid Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP)
  • For works on Network Rail Managed Infrastructure, our preferred pre-qualification is The Rail Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS) with appropriate RICCL codes.

Subcontractors will not be required to join Constructionline to tender work - only to secure work. Note that Constructionline is our on-boarding partner, meaning the link below shall be used for all new organisation applications.

We do encourage the Constructionline associate membership as this means that we can offer you newsletters, potential opportunities, and business updates.

To register your interest to work with VolkerFitzpatrick please submit your details via this link. Our supply chain will be expected to comply with all of our policies and procedures

Once you have registered your interest no further action is required. Your interest will be reviewed by our procurement team and feedback will be issued in due course.

If you can offer your services to another part of the VolkerWessels UK group your interest will be passed through for assessment
The Constructionline and SSIP mandate does not apply to the following:

  • Material suppliers
  • Vehicle fleet suppliers
  • Consultants and designers
  • Non-operated plant
  • White and blue collar labour agencies
  • Statutory undertakers or utility companies
  • Subcontractors that are not in a construction environment
  • Subcontractors that employ less than five persons

These organisations will need to complete a VolkerWessels UK pre-qualification questionnaire and demonstrate health and safety competencies appropriate to the services being provided, however those that are already Constructionline approved or choose to register with Constructionline will not need to complete this questionnaire.

Thank you for your interest in working with us.
