Sketchley Brook Infrastructure

Sketchley Brook

Goodman Logistics are developing a 120-acre site at Sketchley Brook to provide new shops, cafes, industrial units and offices as well as 345 new homes. VolkerFitzpatrick delivered, under a design and construct contract, the section 278 and section 38 compliant roads and highway infrastructure needed service this development.

As part of this contract we constructed a new gyratory roundabout and junction at Rugby Road in Hinckley, which will be the gateway to the new residential development, along with signalisation and infrastructure improvement to the junctions at Dodwells and Longshoot on the A5.

Other major activities include the construction of:

  • Earthwork plateaus to form building plots.
  • Demolition of existing buildings.
  • Remediation of contaminated ground and ground water.
  • Provision of a private estate road.
  • New housing estate spine roads.
  • Signalisation of existing roundabout and change to crossroads.
  • Diversion of the Sketchley Brook stream which traverses the site.
