  • Design and build contract for a new dramatic arts facility
  • Includes teaching studios, media recording suite, library, study centre, 230-seat Simon Sainsbury Theatre and 120-seat Carne Studio
  • Site preparation included extensive ground remediation and demolition of existing buildings
  • Four-storey theatre has a steel frame with slim deck flooring
  • Three-storey building has a reinforced concrete frame with pre-cast concrete floors
  • Substructure has 25m deep CFA piles and ground floor slab
  • Envelope combines traditional brickwork to the lower levels and rain screen cladding to the upper levels
  • Acoustic bearing pads help protect against structural-borne noise and vibration
  • Detailed logistics strategy agreed with Transport for London, London Underground and LB of Hammersmith and Fulham for crane oversailing, scaffolding, party wall agreements and traffic management plans
