VolkerFitzpatrick and Groundwork Hertfordshire to team up

VolkerFitzpatrick, the Dutch-owned multi-disciplinary contractor, has teamed up with Groundwork Hertfordshire, a community regeneration charity, to further its corporate social responsibility agenda.

Groundwork Hertfordshire, a leading environmental regeneration charity founded in 1985, works to support communities in need and seeks to build sustainable, vibrant, healthy and safe communities, via a wide range of projects. The trust works with partners to help improve the quality of people's lives, their prospects and potential and the places where they live, work and play.

Groundwork Hertfordshire is a member of the national federation of Groundwork Trusts.

Steve Harvey, Executive Director of Groundwork Hertfordshire said "the formalisation of the partnership with VolkerFitzpatrick represents a hugely exciting opportunity to work together towards the development of truly sustainable communities".

VolkerFitzpatrick Director of Business Development, Ray Mays said "As a company, we are committed to building better communities, and working with groups who share similar objectives. We are therefore delighted to be teaming up with Groundwork Hertfordshire, and look forward to working with them on many exciting future projects".

Chairman of VolkerFitzpatrick's Communities Group Nick Nieder said "Past projects where Groundwork and VolkerFitzpatrick have worked together have been a great success, based on the principle of ‘adding value' through strategic partnerships. Linking-up with Groundwork is part of this process, and enables us to support the voluntary sector and communities in a meaningful and tangible way. We intend to work closely with Groundwork on a number of other projects both in Hertfordshire and across the UK".

The agreement to work together was ratified in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding at the Chelsea Flower Show on 21st May.
