The Construction News awards celebrate the best companies, projects and achievements across the industry, and this year the 24th awards ceremony was held digitally for the very first time.

VolkerFitzpatrick beat off stiff competition to take home the prize in the Training Excellence category, which recognises contractors who have demonstrated a positive and progressive approach to training and developing staff during 2019. Applicants are assessed on the outcomes of their training initiatives, as well as the innovation shown in developing new training methods and the time allocated to training. The judges were looking for strong leadership and commitment to training, as well as evidence of an embedded culture of training.

Sally Hill, emerging talent manager for VolkerFitzpatrick, said: “It is really great to be recognised for all our hard work and dedication.  We are all so passionate about the development of all our people – whatever age they are, or where they are on their career journey.  Excellence is part of our DNA at VolkerFitzpatrick, and it really is great to win the Training Excellence Award.”

Congratulations to all the winners in each of the other categories, too!
