VolkerFitzpatrick wins six awards at Considerate Constructors Scheme Awards

VolkerFitzpatrick has been awarded six awards in the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) National Site Awards 2015.

The National Site Awards recognise construction sites across the UK and showcase the contribution companies make to improve the image of the construction industry.

VolkerFitzpatrick were presented with the following awards:

The sites won the awards by demonstrating innovation and best practice in the following five key areas of assessment:

  • Care about appearance
  • Respect the community
  • Protect the environment
  • Secure everyone’s safety
  • Value the workforce

Steve Bridgen, head of HSEQS at VolkerFitzpatrick said: “We are delighted to win these awards as they show the tremendous importance VolkerFitzpatrick places on working well in the community, with our workforce and in the environment.

“We are very proud of the work our site teams are doing. Their effort is reflected in our average CCS score being almost 15% higher than the industry average. ”

During the 12 award ceremonies a total of 798 awards were presented with 99 achieving Gold Awards. 280 Silver and 387 Bronze were also won. In 2015, over 8,900 sites were eligible to win an award through their registration to the CCS.  

The CCS provides construction sites, companies and suppliers the opportunity to voluntarily register with the scheme and agree to abide by the code of considerate practice, designed to encourage best practice throughout the industry.
