VolkerFitzpatrick unites supply chain to raise over £22k for CRASH at its charity golf day

Recent

This year, VolkerFitzpatrick's annual golf day raised an incredible £22,331 to help people who are homeless and children and adults who need hospice care.

The Paul Lane Memorial Golf Day is an annual event held by VolkerFitzpatrick to remember a colleague and raise vital funds for construction industry's charity, CRASH, leaving a legacy by supporting their work with homelessness charities and hospices across the UK. This year, the golf day raised an incredible £22,331 to help people who are homeless and children and adults who need hospice care.

The golf day, held at The Belfry Hotel & Resort, PGA course, was an excellent opportunity to raise vital funds for CRASH construction projects, whilst bringing together different areas of the construction industry for a full day of team-bonding, golf, and a good time.

Guests gave generously, donating to try and ‘beat the pro golfer’, bidding on auction lots and purchasing raffle tickets to be in with the chance of winning fantastic prizes organised by the VolkerFitzpatrick team.

Many companies kindly donated prizes for the raffle and auction, including fellow corporate patrons, London Building Control, who generously donated their Corporate Hospitality at The Emirates, and Imtech, who donated a 4-ball at Foxhills Golf Club. Football fans were in luck, as tickets for Arsenal, Tottenham and Everton were up for auction.

It was a fantastic day, showcasing how companies can come together to deliver social impact by raising funds for CRASH at their events. The donations raised will help CRASH to continue supporting people who are homeless and children and adults with a life-limiting illness, by improving the buildings and places they need.

Francesca Roberts, chief executive of CRASH, commented: “What an incredible achievement and a wonderful day. A really lovely event to celebrate the life of Paul Lane and also helping so many people by supporting CRASH charity in our work to construct buildings that care for people who are homeless, and adults and children who need end of life care in a hospice. Please pass on our sincere thanks to everyone involved. Whether they were planning and hosting the event, attending, sponsoring or donating a prize, everyone’s efforts contributed to a very special day. All of us at CRASH are sincerely grateful.”

John O'Grady, commercial director for VolkerFitzpatrick's Building division, said: “The day couldn’t have gone any better. A fantastic amount of money was raised for our supported charity, CRASH, as well as the chance to remember and celebrate the life of our friend and colleague, Paul Lane. Many thanks to the VolkerFitzpatrick team for all their effort in making the day such a success. Many thanks also to everyone who supported the event helping us raise a bumper amount of £22,331.”
