VolkerFitzpatrick’s rail division are celebrating this year, having achieved two Bronze Awards at the Green Apple Environmental Awards.
The two winning projects were Network Rail’s Romford Accessible Walkway and Cambridge North station, the latter of which also won a Green Apple Award last year.
A number of environmental achievements were made during both projects, including:
Steve Bridgen, head of HSEQS for VolkerFitzpatrick, said: “It is wonderful to have been recognised with not one but two Green Apple Awards this year. We have put 80 per cent of our operational staff through in-house environmental training to date and this award is a recognition of their competence in this area. Congratulations to the project teams on this achievement.”
The awards were presented on 6 November, at a ceremony held in the Houses of Parliament.
