The Rail Industry Awards celebrate achievements across the UK rail industry, including technical projects, safety, marketing and customer service, as well as the success of individuals and teams who make such a difference to our fantastic industry.

The Industry Leader Award recognises the most outstanding industry leader within the UK rail sector; someone who has a level of industry statesmanship and guardianship, identifies and addresses key business and industry issues, who is able to react rapidly to changing circumstances and business objectives, and has demonstrated clear leadership within their organisation.

Commenting on his shortlisting, John said: “It was a complete surprise to hear that my management team had submitted this nomination, and I am delighted to have been shortlisted in this category.

“I accept the shortlisting on behalf of my teams, who demonstrate their commitment every day – particularly in recent difficult times, and without whom I would not have achieved so much.”

The awards event will be held virtually, in February 2021.
