Environment & sustainability
Accredited to ISO 14001: 2004 we recognise the impact of construction on the environment and we are tackling issues such as energy use and carbon emissions head on. We are:
- reducing our C02 emissions through our Green Car Policy
- reducing demand for fuel, water and energy
- reducing the amount of waste that goes to landfill
To facilitate achievement of these targets we have, in-house, the following services:
- BREEAM assessors to influence design to incorporate sustainable solutions.
- Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers Low Carbon Consultants qualified to provide advice on zero and low carbon design and implementation.
- We are licensed to carry out Simplified Building Energy Model calculations to prove compliance with Building Regulations Part L
- CEEQUAL assessors to influence design to incorporate sustainable solutions.
In addition we work with and implement the best practice recommendations of:
- WRAP
- Construction Industry Research and Information Association
- National Industrial Symbiosis Programme
We are committed to protecting and enhancing biodiversity, ensuring that wildlife and Ecosystems are considered when planning our activities. Our overall approach is guided by our Environmental Management System and Site Waste Management Plan. This system ensures our people are able to manage risk and identify opportunity, and promotes the communication of best practice.
