CP4 Multi Asset Framework Agreement (MAFA) – South East Region

VolkerFitzpatrick was one of two principal contractors appointed to the MAFA South East framework. Works were multi-disciplinary, encompassing a variety of signalling, track and civils projects.

MAFA delivered multi-disciplinary projects that included railway construction works, station enhancements, signalling work, equipment upgrades, track construction works, overhead line equipment and ancillary works. Also completed were third rail direct current works and civil engineering and ancillary works for telecommunications.

Projects ranged in value from £20k surveys and feasibility studies up to a £40m design and construction schemes for station redevelopment. Projects delivered included:

  • £1.2m Kent House embankment stabilisation
  • £2.5m Palmerston road bridge over rail reconstruction
  • £7.5m Lea Valley viaduct reconstruction
  • £25.3m Sussex line platform lengthening programme
  • £40m Gatwick Station redevelopment (phase 1)

The larger projects were delivered co-located with Network Rail, enabling the team to harness shared expertise to take projects from feasibility stage through to construction and final hand back, including managing all stakeholder interfaces and route possessions.
