In recognition of its dedication to improving the image of construction and its consideration towards the local environment in which it works, VolkerWessels UK has received the new five year Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) Longevity Award as an Associate member of the scheme.
Adrian Shah-Cundy, head of corporate responsibility at VolkerWessels UK, said: "We are delighted to have received this award in recognition of our long-standing participation in the Considerate Constructors Scheme and our continued dedication to sustainable and responsible practice. The scheme continues to drive a consistent improvement in construction standards and we are proud to be an Associate. I look forward to reaching the ten year milestone in 2014."
During 2013 VolkerWessels UK won CCS awards on a number of sites including the Lower Todmorden and Walsden flood alleviation scheme project, a runner up in the Most Considerate Site award category, which was commended for going above and beyond in protecting the local community during the floods of 2012
