This year is VolkerFitzpatrick’s ninth consecutive Gold Award, earning them the prestigious Gold Medal Award, which is presented to organisations who have achieved five to nine consecutive Gold Awards.

This year has seen the business’ accomplishments recognised with a number of other accolades, including five Considerate Constructors National Awards and two International Safety Awards with Merit, from the British Safety Council.

Steve Bridgen, head of HSEQS for VolkerFitzpatrick said: “It has been another good year for VolkerFitzpatrick, with accident and incident rates continuing to decline and our PALS (Plan, Attitude, Lead, Share) behavioural change programme continuing to drive the right culture throughout our business. We have won numerous awards for our health and safety performance this year and the 9th consecutive RoSPA Gold Award is a great recognition of our efforts.”

Julia Small, head of awards and events for RoSPA said: “The RoSPA Awards are the most prestigious in the world of occupational health and safety, and are held in high regard, as winning one demonstrates an organisation’s commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record. Achieving the standard required is no mean feat.”

About the awards

Through the RoSPA Awards scheme, which is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas, judges consider entrants’ overarching occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
