Medway Council has awarded a multi-million pound Highway Maintenace contract to VolkerFitzpatrick Contractors Ltd. The contract is for five years with extensions for up to another five years.
The contract covers road signs, pothole and pavement repairs, drain cleaning, road marking and general maintenance tasks. Also the winter gritting and 24hr response to highways emergenies.
It is the first time in Medway that all these responsibilities have been grouped under a single, performance based contract, which starts on 1 August.
